Covid-19 Update

Personal hygiene advice to Opusclean Operatives and anyone in an office setting

  • Anyone exhibiting the symptoms (a new continuous cough and/or high temperature) must self-isolate. This means that they must stay at home and not leave home for 7 days. If they live with other people, they should stay at home for 14 days from the day the first person got the symptoms.
  • Frequently wash hands with soap and water (for a minimum of 20 seconds) after being in any public areas or after coughing, sneezing, blowing your nose or touching your face or eyes. Use a sanitising hand gel if handwashing is not possible, and in addition to the hand washing where available.
  • Reduce the spread of germs when coughing or sneezing with a tissue or sleeve (not the hands) and then throw the tissue away immediately and wash your hands.
  • Clean and sanitise all regularly touched objects and surfaces using regular cleaning products.

Regular cleaning advice to Opusclean Operatives

  • Normal cleaning methods should kill the virus. Implement the regular cleaning specification and schedule finishing with the sanitiser on all surfaces.
  • In particular clean and sanitise regularly touched objects and surfaces using the supplied sanitiser.
  • Use normal PPE especially gloves and thoroughly wash your hands after using.

Cleaning advice to Opusclean Operatives if self-isolation has occurred in the premises to be cleaned or there is a confirmed coronovirus case

  • Cleaning an area with the sanitiser provided after someone with suspected coronavirus has left will reduce the risk of infection transfer.
  • The area has to be kept closed and secure for 72 hours until we are able to re-commence cleaning. The virus will have reduced significantly by 72 hours.
  • Wear disposable gloves and aprons for cleaning and use disposable cloths and mops.  All used PPE and cleaning should be double bagged, stored for 72 hours, then thrown away in the regular rubbish after cleaning is finished.
  • Using a disposable cloth, first clean all contactable surfaces with warm soapy water then sanitise the surfaces with the product supplied, paying particular attention to frequently touched areas and surfaces, such as bathrooms, grab-rails in corridors and stairwells, door handles and light switches.
  • Wash hands regularly with soap, and after removing gloves, aprons and other protection used in cleaning.
